World of Ash

March 5, 2011

It’s kinda hard,

when the skin no longer bleeds.

No taste for water,

no reason left to feed.

Sun has turned its’ back,

fingers chip from the cold.

World of ash,

no reason left to be bold.

Kingdom of grey, I can’t abide here no more

Nothing left to say, chest is hollow

Just another face, they’ve all become the same

World of ash, I can’t abide here no more

  1. i like the repetition of “World of ash, I can’t abide here no more”, it’s sad, slightly coloquial sounds resonating. nice 🙂 xx

Reading an old posting of mine I came across a comment you had made and decided to come by. So glad I did. I so love this poem–World of Ash–beautifully done–describing where we all end up.
