We are not helpless

October 13, 2010

We are not helpless

Wandering about, lost

with only the thoughts

of what’s the point

             We are not helpless

             Those imprisoned by taverns’

             Sawdust and the endless

             Seduction by false memories

We are not helpless

Tortured by thoughts

Good, bad..makes no difference

Endless throughout the night

Outlasting the moon

          We are not helpless

          For we do not fight

          Nor shall we hoard

          A bow to the space

          That allows all

          it’s true place

We are not helpless

For we were not born

In original sin

Nor condemned

      to live in

We are not helpless

For we are unborn

And we cannot die

As air is to sky

No mark has come close

Only we don’t understand

That heaven and hell

Must be left behind

  1. Wow! I am stunned by the cosmic truths in this poem and of your awareness of the bigger picture. Fantastic message so wonderfully writen. Profound and hopeful and lifts us right out of the boxes of our own devising into the light of a brighter day. Thank you for this! I so needed it right this minute!
